Emergency Management Training for Healthcare

National Incident Management System (NIMS) Required Courses

Our courses are taught by instructors with healthcare and hospital experience who can bring the courses into the hospital setting. Real life studies, group exercises and the opportunity for questions and discussions makes this training much more valuable than online courses. When you must require your staff to take NIMS training, why not make it as valuable as possible?

  Comprehensive Hospital Emergency Management Training

This is a one and a half day (12 hour) class that can be taken continuously or in sections. HICS 4 serves as the recommended command and control course for hospitals under the National Incident Management System (NIMS).
Contents of these interactive programs meet the objectives of: IS-700.a, IS-100HC.b, IS-200HC.a and HICS IV. Combining all of the courses into one class reduces duplication and makes the training more efficient.

  Comprehensive NIMS Training

This is a one day (8 hour) class. Hospitals are required to provide three courses to staff who are likely to assume a leadership ICS position under the Incident Command System (ICS). These three courses are IS-700, IS-100 and IS-200.
Contents of this inter-active program meet the objectives of: IS-700.a, IS-100HC.b and IS-200HC.a. Combining all of the NIMS courses into one class reduces duplication and makes the training more efficient.

Intro to NIMS and Incident Command Systems

This is a one day (6 hour) class. Hospitals are required to provide at least two courses to staff who would respond to an emergency/disaster under the National Incident Management System (NIMS). These two courses are IS-700 and IS-100.
Contents of this inter-active program meet the objectives of: IS-700.a and IS-100HC.b. Combining these two courses into one class reduces some duplication and makes the training more efficient.

  NIMS for the Executive Team

This one day (4 hour) class is targeted to your executive team and the members of your Emergency Preparedness Committee. The course meets the objectives of IS-800.b National Response Framework, required by NIMS for anyone who may be in the Hospital Incident Command position in your Command Center. The course also focuses on your HVA and EM Plan including integration of your plan into the community. IS-100, IS-200 and IS-700 are prerequisites for this course

  Individual NIMS Courses

The following emergency preparedness classes may be offered individually. These typically take 3-4 hours each to complete. Students must take the courses in the order listed due to prerequisites.
